Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing is internationally recognised and consists of academics providing leading edge sources of knowledge across the full spectrum of marketing matters. Each Marketing Department member strives to generate first class, meaningful research that contributes to the development of marketing theory and practice.

Masters degrees
We run four outstanding MSc Marketing degree programmes which attract students from more than 30 countries

Research degrees (PhD)
Specialist areas of research include branding, business to business, consumer behaviour, ethics, e-marketing, international marketing, innovation management, marketing communications, strategy, retailing, and sustainable marketing.

Research
We have won a range of research grants from bodies such as the ESRC and the British Academy as well as working closely with businesses and organisations both regionally and nationally

Staff
We are actively involved with our discipline through our professional memberships, editorships of leading journals and engagement with industry and the media.

Dr. George Christodoulides Investigates Consumer Based Brand Equity in Europe
University of Birmingham has recently been awarded an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) grant to investigate the measurement of consumer based brand equity and to use the results to improve managerial practice.
